The strange checker like pattern should not be there, all textures are 
plain colours. Object is a mesh2. The pattern does not seem to be random. 
After adding /TREAHDS 1 it's also there. It's the first scene I rendered 
with the new beta. I'll investigate this, and other scenes, a bit more 
later today.
